On Monday the 21 of November 2011 we started the project in Amsterdam-Noord in the KijkRuimte.Dan and Merel two wonderful young women are running this place.That is a very special place.First of all you have to take the fairy to cross the water in order to reach this place.
This fairy is giving you the poetic feeling.This short pause being together with other people uniting by the common need of the crossing the water …
The topic of the project is “feeling of home“.Of course with the help of FFC method,dealing with clothes.What does it mean,actually,feeling of home???
I have gotten a strong desire to make my research and a video in the end.My dear hosts have visited the mother center and talked with muslim women if they would agree to participate in our research project.They showed enthusiasm and already agreed to speak about their belongings.Probably because they cannot speak about their clothes.
Probably as a reaction on our advertisement,a fantastic lady appeared on the first day because of her dress and from the fact that it suited our situation so well.She definitely will play a leading role in our video.
She brought her dear black dress in which she has been through some crucial moment of her life. Some of those moments that people cannot forget never.All of us:Eugene,Merel,Taby and me were shocked of the bright excitement coming from her personality and from her story...
This was a surrealistic day.Fog all over the city and we went out to make a first video.
